Nathan Canby is an attorney with the firm. Since graduating from Yale Law School, Mr. Canby’s has practiced general civil litigation, representing both plaintiffs and defendants in matters ranging from labor and employment matters to real estate disputes to probate litigation to business contractual disputes. Much of Mr. Canby’s work has been for clients in the entertainment and media businesses, and he has made a minor specialty of handling intellectual property disputes involving copyright, trademark and publicity rights cases. He has practiced before the United States Trademark Trial and Appeal Board and the National Appeals Division of the United States Department of Agriculture as well as before the United States District Court and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the trial and appellate courts of the State of California.
In addition to his J.D., Nathan holds a B.A. in English from Yale University and an M.F.A. in Playwriting from U.C.L.A. He is the author of plays which have been produced in theaters across the United States, and has been involved in the production of theater here in Los Angeles.
